Mr. Janith Ramanayake

🎓 I’m a passionate Data Science graduate with a strong foundation in 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀, and 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, complemented by real-world experience in 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, and 𝗔𝗜. Currently serving as a 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 at the Department of Statistics - University of Colombo, I’m actively engaged in both teaching and applied research.
🔬 My research spans across 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 and 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 with a keen focus on interdisciplinary applications. Key research projects include:

• Enhancing Sleep Stage Classification with Vision Transformers: A Study on Image Transformations, Data Augmentation, and Model Optimization.
• A Data Driven Approach to Measuring Consumer Confidence in Sri Lanka with Google Search Trends and Deep Learning.
• Cross-Lingual Sentiment Modeling for Financial Texts in Sinhala, and Tamil.

🔍 Currently seeking 𝗣𝗵𝗗 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 or 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 where I can further explore advanced data science and machine learning methods to solve real-world problems through impactful, interdisciplinary research.
