Emotion Recognition through Sinhala Song Comments on YouTube

This research employs deep learning techniques to analyze Sinhala social media comments on Sri Lankan songs, aiming to recognize emotions evoked by the music. Despite limited Natural Language Processing resources for Sinhala, this study fills the gap in understanding emotions related to Sri Lankan music. It focuses on identifying emotional model categories for Sinhala comments, developing a model for emotion recognition, and exploring links between song popularity and evoked emotions. By scraping YouTube comments and using advanced analysis, the study sheds light on how listeners perceive Sri Lankan music.
