LangChain serves as a framework for crafting applications driven by language models. It empowers these applications to possess the following capabilities: (1) Context Awareness: They can establish connections between a language model and sources of context, such as prompt instructions, a few-shot examples, or contextual content, to inform their responses, (2) Reasoning: These applications rely on a language model for the process of reasoning, which includes determining how to respond based on the provided context and deciding on appropriate actions. Within the LangChain framework, an agent is a component equipped with a toolkit, enabling it to make decisions regarding which tool to employ based on user input. There are two primary types of agents in this context: Action Agents and Plan-and-Execute Agents.
