Dungeons and Dragons is one of, if not the most popular table top role playing game and is one of the base models for earliest computer games. Nearing 50 years since its initial release, D&D has seen a massive increase in popularity due to the pop cultural references in shows like The Big Bang Theory and Stranger Things as well as D&D gameplay webseries the likes of Critical Role which recently landed an animated series as well. D&D requires a person called a dungeon master (DM) to host the gameplay for the other players. It is common practice for DMs to create their own games based on the D&D guides. And preparation for a game is a time consuming and gruelling task. For an hour's worth of gameplay requires 3-4 hours of preperation and a typical gameplay session lasts about 2-3 hours. That is a very large amount of time especially when one plays/ hosts games on a regular basis, which is the case most often than not. A significant proportion of said preparation time is usually spent on creating the narrative. Currently there are no adventure generators that generates a complete adventure. Most of the existing generators use databases or simple tables to piece together sections/ structure of an adventure. It doesn’t output a cohesive story, only the outline of the plot. When done manually, DMs create their own adventure module with a more cohesive narrative based on this plot outline. Our goal is to create a system capable of “generating self-standing adventures for Dungeons and Dragons game-play.” to lessen the burden on DMs and to help aspiring ones.
